The “Winging It” Vase is a one-of-a-kind raku-fired vessel defined by movement, spontaneity, and the fleeting moment where control gives way to intuition. Its softly rounded form provides a quiet foundation for the bold, feather-like markings that sweep organically across the surface—each one formed in seconds, never to be replicated.

Created through an unpredictable firing process, the piece embraces the essence of “winging it”—working in real time with heat, air, and timing, where every decision is immediate and final. The resulting patterns evoke motion and lift, like a wing caught mid-flight.

Each piece is hand-burnished, a meticulous process that brings out a smooth, satin sheen without the use of glaze, allowing the raw character of the clay and fire to remain fully visible.
